Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
श्रुतसेनं भीमसेनाच् छ्रुतकीर्तिं धनंजयात् चतुर्थं श्रुतकर्माणं सहदेवाद् अजायत //
śrutasenaṃ bhīmasenāc chrutakīrtiṃ dhanaṃjayāt caturthaṃ śrutakarmāṇaṃ sahadevād ajāyata //
From Bhīmasena was born Śrutasena; from Dhanaṃjaya (Arjuna), Śrutakīrti; and as the fourth, from Sahadeva was born Śrutakarmā.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it is a genealogical notice listing births in the Pandava-descendant line, a typical Purāṇic method of preserving royal succession and chronology.
Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇic ideal of dharmic continuity: by recording legitimate descent and succession, it frames kingship as a trust carried through a lineage, where each heir is expected to uphold rājadhrama and family obligations.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is mentioned in this verse; its focus is solely on dynastic genealogy (vamśāvalī).
