Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
कृष्यतस्तु महाराजो वर्षाणि सुबहून्यथ कृष्यमाणस्ततः शक्रो भयात्तस्मै वरं ददौ //
kṛṣyatastu mahārājo varṣāṇi subahūnyatha kṛṣyamāṇastataḥ śakro bhayāttasmai varaṃ dadau //
As the great king continued his ploughing for many years, Indra (Śakra), alarmed by his unrelenting effort, granted him a boon (vara).
This verse does not describe Pralaya; it focuses on sustained human effort (ploughing) and a divine reaction (Indra granting a boon) within an ethical/narrative context.
It highlights perseverance in rightful work—here, cultivation as a king’s commitment to prosperity and welfare—so powerful that even the gods take notice, culminating in the granting of a boon.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated in this verse; its takeaway is moral and political—steadfast endeavour leading to divine acknowledgment.
