Matsya Purana — Paurava Genealogy
एते वंश्या यतेः पक्षाः क्षत्रोपेतास्तु भार्गवाः राजा चैद्यवरो नाम मैत्रेयस्य सुतः स्मृतः //
ete vaṃśyā yateḥ pakṣāḥ kṣatropetāstu bhārgavāḥ rājā caidyavaro nāma maitreyasya sutaḥ smṛtaḥ //
These are the lineage-branches of Yati—Bhārgavas who had assumed (or attained) Kṣatriya status. Among them, a king named Caidyavara is remembered as the son of Maitreya.
This verse is not about Pralaya; it belongs to the dynastic (vaṁśa) material, recording lineage-branches and a remembered king in that genealogy.
Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇic ideal that kingship is anchored in lineage memory and legitimacy; by naming recognized royal descendants, the text frames righteous rule as part of an inherited social order.
No Vāstu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is stated here; the verse functions purely as genealogical identification (vaṁśānucarita).
