Matsya Purana — Lineage of Yayāti through Yadu and the Deeds of Kārtavīrya Arjuna
जयध्वजस्य पुत्रस्तु तालजङ्घो महाबलः तस्य पुत्रशतान्येव तालजङ्घा इति श्रुताः //
jayadhvajasya putrastu tālajaṅgho mahābalaḥ tasya putraśatānyeva tālajaṅghā iti śrutāḥ //
Jayadhvaja’s son was the mighty Tālajaṅgha. It is heard that he had hundreds of sons, who became known collectively as the Tālajaṅghas.
This verse is genealogical, not cosmological; it does not describe pralaya, but preserves lineage memory that continues across ages in Purāṇic tradition.
By emphasizing dynastic continuity (many sons forming a clan), it reflects the Purāṇic ideal of sustaining family and kingdom through succession, a key concern of rājadharma and gṛhastha responsibilities.
No Vāstu or ritual procedure is stated in this verse; its primary significance is historical-genealogical (vamśa identification) rather than architectural guidance.
