FAQs

This verse does not describe Pralaya; it catalogs sacred rivers/holy sites connected with specific mountains and regions, emphasizing pilgrimage geography rather than cosmic dissolution.

By mapping recognized tīrthas, it supports the householder and kingly duty of dharma through tīrtha-yātrā, charity, and ritual bathing—acts traditionally recommended for purification and public religious merit.

The ritual takeaway is tīrtha-identification: these named rivers/sites are implied places for snāna (sacred bathing) and pilgrimage observances; no direct Vastu or temple-construction rule is stated in this verse.
