Matsya Purana — Kārtavīrya Arjuna’s Solar Boon and the Genealogy from Kroṣṭu to the Yādava Lines
अन्धकानामिमं वंशं यः कीर्तयति नित्यशः आत्मनो विपुलं वंशं प्रजावानाप्नुते नरः //
andhakānāmimaṃ vaṃśaṃ yaḥ kīrtayati nityaśaḥ ātmano vipulaṃ vaṃśaṃ prajāvānāpnute naraḥ //
Whoever regularly recites this lineage of the Andhakas, that man attains for himself a vast lineage and becomes blessed with offspring.
This verse does not address Pralaya; it is a phalaśruti promising merit—especially progeny and an expanded family line—through regular recitation of the Andhaka genealogy.
For householders, it reinforces the Purāṇic ideal of sustaining family lineage (kuladharma) through remembrance, recitation, and dharmic continuity; for kings, it supports dynastic legitimacy by preserving and proclaiming ancestral lines.
No Vāstu or temple-rule detail appears here; the ritual element is the devotional/recitational practice (kīrtana of vaṃśa) framed as a merit-yielding observance.
