Matsya Purana — Kārtavīrya Arjuna’s Solar Boon and the Genealogy from Kroṣṭu to the Yādava Lines
नाशुचिर्नाप्यविद्वान् हि यो भोजेष्वभ्यजायत आहुकस्य भृतिं प्राप्ता इत्येतद्वै तदुच्यते //
nāśucirnāpyavidvān hi yo bhojeṣvabhyajāyata āhukasya bhṛtiṃ prāptā ityetadvai taducyate //
He was neither impure nor unlearned; indeed, he was one born among the Bhojas. It is said that he obtained the maintenance (service/allowance) of Āhuka; thus is this matter stated.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it belongs to a genealogical/royal narrative, highlighting a person’s birth in the Bhoja lineage and his gaining support/service under Āhuka.
Indirectly, it reflects royal-social order: learnedness and purity are praised, and “bhṛti” indicates sanctioned livelihood/service under a ruler—an aspect of dharmic patronage and courtly employment.
No Vastu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is mentioned; the verse is focused on lineage identity and royal support (bhṛti) in a dynastic context.
