Matsya Purana — Kārtavīrya Arjuna’s Solar Boon and the Genealogy from Kroṣṭu to the Yādava Lines
जन्तुर्जज्ञे ऽथ वैदर्भ्यां भद्रसेन्यां पुरुद्वतः ऐक्ष्वाकी चाभवद्भार्या जन्तोस्तस्यामजायत //
janturjajñe 'tha vaidarbhyāṃ bhadrasenyāṃ purudvataḥ aikṣvākī cābhavadbhāryā jantostasyāmajāyata //
Then Jantu was born to Purudvat by the Vidarbha princess Bhadrasenī. Jantu’s wife was a lady born in the Ikṣvāku line, and through her he obtained offspring.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it records dynastic succession—births, marriages, and progeny—to preserve royal genealogy.
Indirectly, it reflects the Purāṇic ideal of household continuity and legitimate succession through marriage alliances between recognized royal lineages.
No Vāstu or ritual procedure is stated here; the focus is purely genealogical (names, lineage, and progeny).
