Matsya Purana — Kārtavīrya Arjuna’s Solar Boon and the Genealogy from Kroṣṭu to the Yādava Lines
वृजिनीवतश्च पुत्रो ऽभूत् स्वाहो नाम महाबलः स्वाहपुत्रो ऽभवद् राजन् रुषङ्गुर् वदतां वरः //
vṛjinīvataśca putro 'bhūt svāho nāma mahābalaḥ svāhaputro 'bhavad rājan ruṣaṅgur vadatāṃ varaḥ //
From Vṛjinīvat there was born a son named Svāha, a man of great strength. O King, Svāha’s son was Ruṣaṅgu, renowned as the foremost among eloquent speakers.
This verse does not describe Pralaya; it records dynastic succession, naming Vṛjinīvat’s son Svāha and Svāha’s son Ruṣaṅgu.
Indirectly, it highlights royal ideals: strength (mahābala) and refined speech (vadatāṃ varaḥ) are praised as virtues in kings and leaders within Puranic ethical culture.
No Vastu, temple-architecture, or ritual procedure is mentioned; the focus is purely genealogical and laudatory (strength and eloquence).
