Matsya Purana — Kamalā-Saptamī Vow: Lotus Rite for Sūrya
yaḥ paśyatīdaṃ śṛṇuyācca martyaḥ paṭhecca bhaktyātha matiṃ dadāti so 'pyatra lakṣmīmacalāmavāpya gandharvavidyādharalokabhāksyāt //
Any mortal who beholds this, listens to it, recites it with devotion, and also offers counsel or understanding—he too, in this very world, attains unwavering prosperity (Lakṣmī) and becomes a partaker of the realms of the Gandharvas and Vidyādharas.
This verse does not describe pralaya directly; it functions as a phala-śruti, stating the spiritual and worldly rewards for seeing, hearing, reciting, and supporting the Purāṇic teaching.
It frames an accessible dharmic practice for householders and rulers alike—supporting sacred learning through listening, recitation, devotion, and offering wise counsel—promising stable prosperity (acalā lakṣmī) as a fruit of such conduct.
No specific Vāstu or temple-construction rule is stated here; the ritual takeaway is the efficacy of śravaṇa (hearing), pāṭha (recitation), and bhakti as meritorious religious acts.
