Matsya Purana — Hiranyakashipu’s Boons
वरप्रदानाद्भगवन् वधिष्यति स नो ऽसुरः तत्प्रसीदाशु भगवन् वधो ऽप्यस्य विचिन्त्यताम् //
varapradānādbhagavan vadhiṣyati sa no 'suraḥ tatprasīdāśu bhagavan vadho 'pyasya vicintyatām //
O Blessed Lord, by the power of the boon that was granted, that asura will slay us. Therefore, be gracious quickly, O Lord—please consider a means for his destruction as well.
This verse does not discuss pralaya directly; it highlights a crisis caused by an asura empowered by a boon and the need for divine intervention to restore order.
It models dharmic response to danger: when ordinary means fail against an unjust aggressor, one should seek wise counsel and divine refuge, and pursue a lawful strategy to remove the threat rather than succumb to fear.
No Vāstu or temple-architecture rule is stated in this verse; the ritual takeaway is the devotional posture of urgent supplication (prapatti/prārthanā) to Bhagavān in times of adharma.
