Matsya Purana — Genealogy of Kaśyapa: Ādityas
प्रह्लादश् चानुह्लादश्च संह्लादो ह्लाद एव च प्रह्लादपुत्र आयुष्मान् शिबिर् बाष्कल एव च //
prahlādaś cānuhlādaśca saṃhlādo hlāda eva ca prahlādaputra āyuṣmān śibir bāṣkala eva ca //
And (there were) Prahlāda, and Anuhlāda, and Saṃhlāda, and also Hlāda. And (from) Prahlāda’s son (came) Āyuṣmān; and (then) Śibir and Bāṣkala as well.
This verse does not describe Pralaya; it preserves a genealogical list (vamsha) by naming successive figures connected with Prahlāda’s line.
Indirectly, it supports the Purāṇic ideal of lineage-conscious dharma: remembering ancestors and maintaining family records, which underpins rites like śrāddha and the continuity of social order.
No Vāstu or iconographic rule is stated here; the verse functions as a name-sequence used for traditional recitation and genealogical remembrance in Purāṇic narration.
