Matsya Purana — Genealogy of Kaśyapa: Ādityas
शुकी शुकानुलूकांश्च जनयामास धर्मतः श्येनी श्येनांस्तथा भासी कुररानप्यजीजनत् //
śukī śukānulūkāṃśca janayāmāsa dharmataḥ śyenī śyenāṃstathā bhāsī kurarānapyajījanat //
In accordance with the ordained order (dharma), Śukī bore parrots and owls; likewise Śyenī bore hawks, and Bhāsī also gave birth to kuraras, raptors akin to the osprey.
It reflects creation (sarga), presenting how species arise through orderly generation “according to dharma,” rather than describing pralaya (dissolution).
Indirectly, it underscores dharma as an ordering principle: just as beings reproduce within a proper natural order, rulers and householders are expected to uphold social order and rightful conduct aligned with dharma.
No Vāstu, temple, or ritual procedure is stated here; the verse is primarily a taxonomic/progeny note within the creation narrative.
