Matsya Purana — Dynastic Genealogies: Paurava–Anu Lines
अथ धर्मरथस्याभूत् पुत्रश्चित्ररथः किल तस्य सत्यरथः पुत्रस् तस्माद्दशरथः किल //
atha dharmarathasyābhūt putraścitrarathaḥ kila tasya satyarathaḥ putras tasmāddaśarathaḥ kila //
Then, it is said, Dharmaratha had a son named Citraratha. His son was Satyaratha, and from him, it is said, was born Daśaratha.
This verse does not discuss Pralaya; it records royal succession in a genealogical sequence, preserving dynastic memory rather than cosmology.
Indirectly, it supports the Purana’s rajadharma framework by emphasizing legitimate succession and continuity of rulership—key for maintaining social order (dharma) across generations.
No Vastu or ritual procedure is stated in this verse; its function is genealogical—naming successive kings—rather than prescribing temple-building or rites.
