Matsya Purana — Division of Bhārata-varṣa
अनामया ह्यशोकाश्च नित्यं मुदितमानसाः सुवर्णवर्णाश्च नराः स्त्रियश्चाप्सरसः स्मृताः //
anāmayā hyaśokāśca nityaṃ muditamānasāḥ suvarṇavarṇāśca narāḥ striyaścāpsarasaḥ smṛtāḥ //
They are free from disease and sorrow, their minds ever joyful; the men and women there are golden-hued, and the women are remembered as Apsarases (celestial nymphs).
This verse does not describe Pralaya; it depicts the characteristics of a celestial realm where beings enjoy the fruit of merit—freedom from disease and sorrow, and constant joy.
By portraying the blissful, sorrowless state attained through punya, it indirectly reinforces the Matsya Purana’s ethic that kings and householders should uphold dharma, charity, and right conduct to gain auspicious post-death results.
No Vastu, temple-building, or ritual procedure is specified in this verse; its focus is cosmological and soteriological—describing the qualities of heavenly inhabitants.
