Matsya Purana — Characteristics of Dvāpara and Kali Yugas
तेषां सप्तर्षयो धर्मं कथयन्तीह तेषु च //
teṣāṃ saptarṣayo dharmaṃ kathayantīha teṣu ca //
To them the Seven Sages here expounded dharma—the principles of righteous order—and they did so in the midst of their own assembly as well.
This verse does not describe pralaya directly; it highlights the post-event or general puranic method of restoring order through rishis teaching dharma.
It frames dharma as something authoritatively taught by rishis to a community or assembly—implying that kings and householders should align governance and daily conduct with rishi-taught norms.
No specific vastu or ritual procedure is named in this verse; it functions as a narrative marker that formal instruction (upadeśa) on dharma is being delivered.
