पुराणं दशसाहस्रं कूर्मकल्पानुगं शिवम् यः शरद्विषुवे दद्याद् वैष्णवं यात्यसौ पदम् //
purāṇaṃ daśasāhasraṃ kūrmakalpānugaṃ śivam yaḥ śaradviṣuve dadyād vaiṣṇavaṃ yātyasau padam //
Whoever, at the autumnal equinox, donates the auspicious Purāṇa consisting of ten thousand verses—aligned with the Kūrma-kalpa—attains the supreme Vaiṣṇava abode.
It does not describe Pralaya directly; it frames cosmic time through the term “kalpa” (here, Kūrma-kalpa) and links merit to alignment with sacred cosmic/seasonal transitions like the viṣuva.
It presents a householder/kingly duty of dāna (charitable gifting), specifically the high merit of donating scripture on an auspicious calendrical moment (śarad-viṣuva), promising elevation to the Vaiṣṇava state/abode.
The ritual significance is calendrical and devotional: performing śāstra-dāna (donating a Purāṇa) on the autumnal equinox; no Vāstu or temple-construction rule is stated in this verse.
