Matsya Purana — Bhīma-Dvādaśī
वासोभिः शयनीयैश्च वित्तशाठ्यविवर्जितः एवं क्षपातिवाह्या च गीतमङ्गलनिःस्वनैः //
vāsobhiḥ śayanīyaiśca vittaśāṭhyavivarjitaḥ evaṃ kṣapātivāhyā ca gītamaṅgalaniḥsvanaiḥ //
With garments and bedding offered, and with no deceit concerning wealth—thus should the night be passed, accompanied by songs and the resonant sounds of auspicious benedictions.
This verse is not about Pralaya; it focuses on ethical and auspicious household observance—spending the night with maṅgala songs while remaining free from deceit regarding wealth.
It stresses ācāra: generosity in providing clothing and bedding, and strict honesty (no vitta-śāṭhya). For householders (and rulers by extension), prosperity must be paired with integrity and auspicious, orderly conduct.
Ritually, it highlights maṅgala-gīta and auspicious sound (benedictory chanting) as part of proper observance; it does not give specific Vāstu or temple-construction rules in this verse.
