Adhyaya 80 — Vaivasvata Manvantara: Enumeration of Manus and the Eighth Manu Sāvarṇi
अस्मिन् कल्पे सप्त येऽन्ये भविष्यन्ति महामुने ।
मनवस्तान् समाचक्ष्व ये च देवादयश्च ये ॥
asmin kalpe sapta ye 'nye bhaviṣyanti mahāmune |
manavas tān samācakṣva ye ca devādayaś ca ye ||
In this kalpa, O great sage, tell me of the other seven Manus who are yet to come to be, and also of the gods and others associated with them.
The Purāṇic horizon includes the future: dharma is portrayed as enduring through time by recurring frameworks (Manus, gods, sages), encouraging confidence in cosmic moral continuity.
Manvantara: explicit focus on enumerating future Manus and their associated divine/royal/sage administrations.
The ‘remaining seven’ implies a complete kalpa-cycle of governance; esoterically it reflects the idea that cosmic order is algorithmic—structured into repeatable epochs.
