Educational Q&A

Even well-meant, welfare-oriented counsel (ātma-hita) may not immediately transform a person dominated by pride and resentment; ethical guidance can quiet outward aggression, yet inner anger may persist unless one truly accepts dharma.

After hearing Bhīṣma’s advice intended for his benefit, Duryodhana’s eagerness for war momentarily subsides; nevertheless, he remains inwardly seething and, with heavy sighs, keeps silent.
