Vaiśampāyana said: As those sun-bright bows were being unfastened, a divine radiance spread all around—like the celestial glow of the planets when they rise.

The verse emphasizes the moral and narrative idea that concealed capability, when released at the proper time, becomes unmistakably evident—like celestial light at its ordained rising. It frames power not as mere aggression but as rightful readiness that manifests when circumstances demand.
Bows that had been kept bound or covered are being unfastened. As they are released, their brilliance spreads in all directions, described through a cosmic simile: the divine light of planets appearing at their rise.
