Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 21 — Kīcaka’s clandestine approach and Bhīma’s covert intervention (नर्तनागारे कीचकवध-प्रसङ्गः)

शूरो5भिमानी पापात्मा सर्वार्थिषु च मुग्धवान्‌ | दारामर्शी महाभाग लभते<र्थान्‌ बहूनपि,इसे अपनी शूरवीरताका बड़ा अभिमान है। यह पापात्मा सब बातोंमें मूर्ख है। महाभाग! यह परायी स्त्रियोंपर बलात्कार करता और लोगोंसे बहुत धन हड़पता रहता है

śūro 'bhimānī pāpātmā sarvārtheṣu ca mugdhavān | dārāmarśī mahābhāga labhate 'rthān bahūn api ||

He is a so‑called hero, swollen with pride, yet sinful at heart and deluded in every matter. O noble one, he violates other men’s wives and, by such predatory conduct, seizes and amasses much wealth.
