सुदेष्णोवाच घातयामि सुकेशान्ते कीचकं यदि मन्यसे । योडसौ त्वां कामसम्मत्तो दुर्लभामवमन्यते,सुदेष्णाने कहा--सुन्दर लटोंवाली सुन्दरी! यदि तुम्हारी सम्मति हो, तो मैं कीचकको मरवा डालूँ; जो कामसे उन्मत्त होकर तुझ-जैसी दुर्लभ देवीका अपमान कर रहा है

sudeṣṇovāca ghātayāmi sukeśānte kīcakaṃ yadi manyase | yo ’sau tvāṃ kāmasammatto durlabhām avamanyate ||

Sudeṣṇā said: “O lady of beautiful tresses, if you consent, I shall have Kīcaka slain—he who, maddened by lust, dares to insult you, a woman so rare and worthy of honor.”
