Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 13 — Kīcaka’s Proposition and Draupadī’s Dharmic Refusal
वासांसि परिजीर्णानि लब्धान्यन्तःपुरेडर्जुन: । विक्रीणानश्न सर्वेभ्य: पाण्डवेभ्य: प्रयच्छति,अर्जुनको अन्तःपुरमें जो पुराने उतारे हुए बहुमूल्य वस्त्र प्राप्त होते, उन्हें वे बेचते और बेचनेसे मिला हुआ मूल्य सब पाण्डवोंको देते थे
vāsāṃsi parijīrṇāni labdhāny antaḥpure 'rjunaḥ | vikrīṇānaś ca sarvebhyaḥ pāṇḍavebhyaḥ prayacchati ||
Vaiśampāyana said: In the women’s quarters, Arjuna obtained costly garments that had grown old and worn. He sold them, and the money from the sale he distributed among all the Pāṇḍavas—quietly sustaining the family in exile by honest, nonviolent means, without burdening others.
