Pulastya’s Instruction

प्राणायामैर्निर्हरिन्ति स्वलोमानि द्विजोत्तमा: | पूतात्मानश्न राजेन्द्र प्रयान्ति परमां गतिम्‌,महाराज! वहाँ श्वाविल्लोमापह नामक तीर्थ है। नरव्याप्र! उसमें तीर्थपरायण हुए विद्वान ब्राह्मण स्नान करके बड़े प्रसन्न होते हैं। भरतसत्तम! श्वाविल्लोमापनयनतीर्थमें प्राणायाम (योगकी क्रिया) करनेसे श्रेष्ठ द्विज अपने रोएँ झाड़ देते हैं तथा राजेन्द्र! वे शुद्धचित्त होकर परमगतिको प्राप्त होते हैं

prāṇāyāmair nirharanti svalomāni dvijottamāḥ | pūtātmānaś ca rājendra prayānti paramāṃ gatim, mahārāja |

Ghūlastya said: “O best of kings, by the discipline of prāṇāyāma the foremost among the twice-born cast off their own hairs (as a sign of purification). With minds and selves made pure, O king, they depart to the highest state.”
