“Kapālamocana is a sacred ford that releases one from every sin. O tiger among men, by bathing there a person is freed from all sins.”
घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse emphasizes the purificatory power of tīrtha-yātrā: sincere ritual bathing at a renowned sacred ford is presented as a means of expiation and moral renewal, symbolically ‘releasing’ one from accumulated pāpa.
A speaker (Ghūlastya) is describing the merit of a particular pilgrimage site, Kapālamocana, and instructs or encourages the addressed hero (‘nara-vyāghra’) that bathing there grants freedom from sins.
