तेजसा यशसा लक्ष्म्या स्थित्या च परया युता । वैदर्भी विचरत्येका नलमन्वेषती तदा,विदर्भराजनन्दिनीने उस वनमें झुंड-के-झुंड भैंसे, सूअर, रीछ और जंगली साँप देखे। तेज, यश, शोभा और परम धैर्यसे युक्त विदर्भक़्रमारी उस समय अकेली विचरती और नलको ढूँढ़ती थी
tejasā yaśasā lakṣmyā sthityā ca parayā yutā | vaidarbhī vicaraty ekā nalam anvēṣatī tadā ||
Bṛhadaśva said: Endowed with radiance, good repute, auspicious fortune, and unwavering steadfastness, the princess of Vidarbha wandered alone at that time, searching for Nala.
बृहृदश्च उवाच
The verse presents steadfastness (sthiti) and dignity under hardship: Damayantī, though alone and vulnerable, remains composed and purposeful, embodying dharma through loyal commitment and courageous perseverance.
Bṛhadaśva describes Damayantī wandering alone, endowed with radiance and resolve, actively searching for her lost husband Nala during their separation in the forest.
