अक्षद्यूतप्रवेशः — Kali’s Entry and the Initiation of the Dice-Contest

यदि त्वं भजमानां मां प्रत्याख्यास्यसि मानद । विषमग्निं जल॑ं रज्जुमास्थास्ये तव कारणात्‌,“मानद! आपके चरणोंमें भक्ति रखनेवाली मुझ दासीको यदि आप स्वीकार नहीं करेंगे तो मैं आपके ही कारण विष, अग्नि, जल अथवा फाँसीको निमित्त बनाकर अपना प्राण त्याग दूँगी'

bṛhadaśva uvāca | yadi tvaṃ bhajamānāṃ māṃ pratyākhyāsyasi mānada | viṣam agniṃ jalaṃ rajjum āsthāsye tava kāraṇāt ||

Bṛhadaśva said: “O noble one, if you reject me though I am devoted to you, then because of you I will resort to poison, fire, water, or a noose, and give up my life.”
