यच्चेक्षितासि विस्पष्टं विशेषेण मया शुभे । तच्च कारणपूर्व हि शृणु सत्यं शुचिस्मिते,'शुभे! पवित्र मुसकानवाली उर्वशी! मैंने जो उस समय सभामें तुम्हारी ओर एकटक दृष्टिसे देखा था, उसका एक विशेष कारण था, उसे सत्य बताता हूँ सुनो--

Transliteration

yac cekṣitāsi vispaṣṭaṁ viśeṣeṇa mayā śubhe | tac ca kāraṇapūrvaṁ hi śṛṇu satyaṁ śucismite ||

Translation

“O auspicious one, O you of pure and gentle smile: the steady, unmistakable gaze with which I looked at you—there was a particular reason behind it. Listen; I shall tell you the truth, for it arose from a definite cause.”
