Vaiśampāyana said: “I have drunk the waters of your springs—sweet as nectar. Day after day I have partaken of that abundant, exquisitely fragrant water that issues forth from you.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights gratitude and the dharmic value of life-sustaining gifts in the wilderness—pure water and nourishment—framed as sacred, ‘nectar-like’ provisions that deserve reverence rather than entitlement.
In the forest setting of the Vana Parva, the speaker describes having repeatedly drunk delicious spring-water, emphasizing its fragrance and abundance, and situating the experience within the broader narrative of survival, hospitality, and sanctity of natural resources.
