Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्

एभिस्तदा मया वीर संग्रामे तारकामये । दैतेयानां सहस्नाणि संयतानि महात्मनाम्‌,“वीर! मैंने इन पाशोंद्वारा तारकामय संग्राममें सहस्रों महाकाय दैत्योंको बाँध लिया था

ebhis tadā mayā vīra saṅgrāme tārakāmaye | daiteyānāṃ sahasrāṇi saṃyatāni mahātmanām ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “O hero, in that starry, wondrous battle, by means of these very bonds I once restrained thousands of the Daityas—mighty-souled and of vast power.”
