Arjuna’s Himalayan Departure and the Commencement of Severe Tapas
Janamejaya’s Inquiry; Sages Approach Śiva
sa dṛṣṭvā bāṇavarṣa tu moghībhūtaṃ dhanañjayaḥ | parama-vismayaṃ cakre sādhu sādhv iti cābravīt ||
Seeing that his shower of arrows had proved futile, Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) was struck with profound astonishment. He praised the Kirāta, repeatedly exclaiming, “Well done! Well done!”—acknowledging the other’s superior skill and the ethical propriety of honoring excellence even in confrontation.
