प्रतीक्ष्म्माण: कालो न: समा राजंस्त्रयोदश | आयुषो<5पचयं कृत्वा मरणायोपनेष्यति,राजन! तेरह वर्षोतक हमें जिसकी प्रतीक्षा करनी है, वह काल हमारी आयुको क्षीण करके हम सबको मृत्युके निकट पहुँचा देगा
pratīkṣamāṇaḥ kālo naḥ samā rājaṁs trayodaśa | āyuṣo 'pacayaṁ kṛtvā maraṇāyopaneṣyati ||
Bhīmasena said: “O King, the thirteen years we must wait for will not pass harmlessly. That time, while we endure it, will steadily diminish our lifespan and bring us all closer to death.”
भीमसेन उवाच
Time is not neutral: even passive waiting consumes one’s lifespan. Bhīma stresses urgency and the ethical weight of delay—endurance must be purposeful, because every year lived is also a step closer to death.
