Yudhiṣṭhira’s Reproof and Vow-Logic: On Dice-Deception, Exile Terms, and the Governance of Anger
Adhyāya 35

Bhīma said: “Those kings, eager to win Duryodhana’s favor, will surely deem it proper to deceive us. They will also set many hidden spies upon us; and once they learn our whereabouts, they will report it to Duryodhana. Then a very great danger will inevitably arise for us.”
भीमसेन उवाच
Bhīma highlights prudent ethics in hostile politics: when opponents and their allies are motivated by personal gain (seeking favor), deception and surveillance become likely. Therefore one must anticipate espionage, protect sensitive information, and act with vigilance to prevent avoidable harm.
Bhīma cautions that kings aligned with Duryodhana, hoping to please him, will try to trick the Pāṇḍavas and send concealed spies to locate them. If the Pāṇḍavas are discovered and reported, a grave threat will arise.
