Dharma-śaṅkā-nivāraṇa: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Response on Karma-Phala and Trust in Dharma

Yudhiṣṭhira said: “If this is the outcome that has come to us, there is no fault of mine anywhere in it. Reflecting in this steady way, a wise person should not blame himself for that result.”

Educational Q&A

Do your duty and assess outcomes with steadiness: when adverse results arise due to factors beyond one’s control, the wise person reflects clearly and does not fall into self-condemnation.

In the Vana Parva context of hardship and exile, Yudhiṣṭhira articulates a dharmic attitude toward misfortune—interpreting an unfavorable outcome without panic or self-blame, emphasizing composed reflection.
