तवाभिसंधि: सुभगे सूर्यात्‌ पुत्रो भवेदिति | वीर्येणाप्रतिमो लोके कवची कुण्डलीति च,सुभगे! तुम्हारे मनमें यह संकल्प उठा था कि 'सूर्यदेवसे मुझे एक ऐसा पुत्र प्राप्त हो, जो संसारमें अनुपम पराक्रमी तथा जन्मसे ही दिव्य कवच एवं कुण्डलोंसे सुशोभित हो'

Transliteration

tavābhisaṃdhiḥ subhage sūryāt putro bhaved iti | vīryeṇāpratimo loke kavacī kuṇḍalīti ca ||

Translation

Sūrya said: “O fortunate lady, your inner resolve was this: ‘May I have a son from the Sun—one unmatched in the world for valor, and adorned from birth with a divine cuirass and earrings.’”
