Markandeya said: “Thus, having lavishly praised and duly honored that best of women, Sāvitrī, the assembled sages took leave of the king Dyumatsena together with his son. Then, with auspiciousness and glad hearts, they departed swiftly to their respective hermitages.”
गौतम उवाच
Exemplary virtue deserves public recognition and honor: the sages’ praise of Sāvitrī models how dharmic conduct (steadfastness, fidelity, and moral courage) is affirmed by the wise, and how auspicious outcomes follow when righteousness is acknowledged and respected.
After witnessing Sāvitrī’s extraordinary conduct and its results, the gathered sages formally praise and honor her, then take the king’s leave (along with his son) and depart happily to their own dwellings, marking a calm conclusion to the episode.
