अनेन तपसा वेदि सर्व परचिकीर्षितम्‌ । सत्यमेतन्निबोधध्वं प्रियते सत्यवानिति

Transliteration

anena tapasā vedi sarva-paracikīrṣitam | satyam etan nibodhadhvaṃ priyate satyavān iti ||

Translation

Gautama said: “By this austerity I have come to know the whole intent behind what was sought to be done. Understand this as true: the one who is dear is called ‘Satyavān’ because he is devoted to truth.”
