Sūrya-stava: Dhaumya’s Counsel and the Aṣṭaśata-nāma of Sūrya

Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “When these fourteen years have passed, you will regain your kingdom once again.”
वैशमग्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches dharmic perseverance: when one accepts a rightful vow or imposed term (such as exile) and endures it without abandoning righteousness, legitimate authority and justice are restored in due time.
In Vaiśaṃpāyana’s narration, a reassurance is given that after the completion of fourteen years, the addressee will again obtain the kingdom—pointing to the end of the exile-period and the promised return to sovereignty.
