Yakṣa-saṃvāda: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Interrogation at the Guarded Water
परिचारैर्गुणैश्वेव प्रश्रयेण दमेन च । सर्वकामक्रियाभिश्न सर्वेषां तुष्टिमादथे,सावित्रीने सेवा, गुण, विनय, संयम और सबके मनके अनुसार कार्य करनेसे सभीको प्रसन्न कर लिया
paricārair guṇaiś caiva praśrayena damena ca | sarvakāmakriyābhiś ca sarveṣāṁ tuṣṭim ādadhe ||
Dyumatsena said: “By attentive service, by good qualities, by humility, and by self-control—and by acting in ways that suited the wishes and needs of all—she won the satisfaction of everyone.”
इुमत्सेन उवाच
Lasting goodwill is earned through dharmic conduct: steady service, cultivated virtues, humility in behavior, and disciplined self-restraint, along with sensitivity to others’ legitimate needs.
Dyumatsena describes how a woman (contextually, Sāvitrī) conducted herself in the household/community—serving attentively and behaving with humility and restraint—so that everyone around her became pleased and satisfied.
