Mārkaṇḍeya said: Seeing the sinful resolve of that evil-minded one, the minister Avindhya pacified him when he was aflame with anger. Hear the reason by which he was calmed—how counsel restrained a wicked intent and turned wrath away from its ruinous course.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
A sinful resolve fueled by anger should be restrained through wise counsel; ethical governance depends on calming wrath and redirecting intention before it becomes harmful action.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates that the minister Avindhya, recognizing an evil-minded person’s wicked determination, successfully pacifies him in anger and now explains the reason and method by which that calming was achieved.
