Adhyāya 290: Kuntī’s Mantra-Parīkṣā and the Appearance of Sūrya (कुन्ती–सूर्यसंवादः)
सोडड्देन रुषोत्सृष्टो वधायेन्द्रजितस्तरु:
ṣoḍḍena ruṣotsṛṣṭo vadhāyendrajitastaruḥ
Mārkaṇḍeya said: “In wrath, he hurled the tree with great force, intending it for the slaying of Indrajit.”

The verse highlights how anger (ruṣā) drives impulsive, lethal action; ethically, it points to wrath as a catalyst that eclipses restraint and discernment in conflict.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates a combat moment: someone, enraged, uproots or seizes a tree and hurls it as a weapon, aiming to kill Indrajit.
