Indrajit and Lakṣmaṇa: Escalation through Concealment
vaiśampāyana uvāca | ity ukto bhīmasenas tu guḍākeśena dhīmatā | yudhiṣṭhiram abhiprekṣya vāgmī vacanam abravīt ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Thus addressed by the wise Guḍākeśa (Arjuna), Bhīmasena—skilled in speech—looked toward Yudhiṣṭhira and spoke.
Even when urged by a capable warrior like Arjuna, speech and decision are presented before Yudhiṣṭhira—the embodiment of dharma—signaling that strength and strategy should be guided by ethical judgment and rightful authority.
After Arjuna (Guḍākeśa) addresses Bhīma, Bhīma turns his attention to Yudhiṣṭhira and begins to speak, setting up a counsel or response delivered in the presence of the eldest brother and leader.
