Dvaītavana: Brahmaghoṣa, Rṣi-saṅgha, and Baka Dālbhyā’s Upadeśa to Yudhiṣṭhira

tvap-pratijñāṁ pratīkṣas tu sahate ’yaṁ vṛkodaraḥ |

Vaiśampāyana said: This Vṛkodara (Bhīma), though fully capable, endures the enemy’s offenses only because he is waiting for you to fulfill your vow. He has the ardor to destroy all the Kauravas in battle, yet restrains himself out of regard for your pledged word—showing that strength is to be governed by dharma and fidelity to promises.
