Dvaītavana: Brahmaghoṣa, Rṣi-saṅgha, and Baka Dālbhyā’s Upadeśa to Yudhiṣṭhira
ध्यायत: कि न मन्युस्ते प्राप्ते काले विवर्धते । भीमसेनं हि कर्माणि स्वयं कुर्वाणमच्युतम्
dhyāyataḥ kiṁ na manyus te prāpte kāle vivardhate | bhīmasenaṁ hi karmāṇi svayaṁ kurvāṇam acyutam ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “As you brood, why does your anger not swell when the decisive moment has arrived—seeing Bhīmasena himself undertaking the deeds, while Acyuta (Kṛṣṇa) acts on his own as well?”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights timely moral resolve: when the moment for decisive action arrives, righteous indignation and determination should not remain dormant—especially when capable leaders (Bhīma) and guiding figures (Kṛṣṇa) are already acting.
Vaiśaṃpāyana comments on a situation where someone is brooding rather than fully responding; he points to Bhīma actively taking on tasks and to Kṛṣṇa (Acyuta) acting personally, implying that the listener’s anger and initiative should rise to meet the moment.
