vaiśampāyana uvāca: śrutvā īritaṁ keśavasya babhūvuḥ svastha-mānasāḥ | draupadyā sahitāḥ pārthās tam ūcuḥ vigata-jvarāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Hearing what Keśava had declared, the Pāṇḍavas—together with Draupadī—became calm in mind. Their fever of anxiety subsided, and they addressed the Lord, saying in effect: “O mighty one, O Govinda! Having you as our helper and protector, we have crossed even great and hard-to-cross calamities—just as men sinking in the ocean are carried across when they find the support of a ship.”
Reliance on righteous divine guidance brings inner steadiness: when the Pāṇḍavas hear Keśava’s assurance, their mental turmoil (jvara) dissolves, illustrating that true refuge transforms fear into composure and enables one to endure adversity.
In the frame narration, Vaiśampāyana reports to Janamejaya that after hearing Kṛṣṇa (Keśava), the Pāṇḍavas and Draupadī regain peace of mind and then speak to him, acknowledging him as their helper and protector, likening his support to a ship saving those drowning in the sea.
