वैशग्पायन उवाच स एवमुक्त्वा भगवान् व्यास: पाण्डवनन्दनम् | जगाम तपसे धीमान् पुनरेवाश्रमं प्रति,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! परम बुद्धिमान् भगवान् व्यास पाण्डुनन्दन युधिष्ठिरसे ऐसा कहकर तपस्याके लिये पुनः अपने आश्रमकी ओर चले गये
vaiśampāyana uvāca | sa evam uktvā bhagavān vyāsaḥ pāṇḍavanandanam | jagāma tapase dhīmān punar evāśramaṃ prati ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Having spoken thus to Yudhiṣṭhira, the delight of the Pāṇḍavas, the venerable and wise Vyāsa departed once more toward his hermitage, intent on austerity.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ideal conduct of a ṛṣi: after offering guidance grounded in dharma, he returns to tapas and restraint. Ethical authority is shown as rooted in disciplined living, not in continued worldly entanglement.
Vaiśampāyana narrates to King Janamejaya that Vyāsa, having finished speaking to Yudhiṣṭhira, departs again for his hermitage to pursue austerities.
