Rāvaṇa’s Origins and the Acquisition of Boons
tatas te pāṇḍavāḥ śīghraṃ prayayur dharmakovidāḥ, rājan
Then the Pāṇḍavas—skilled in discerning dharma—set out swiftly, O King. After that, those dharma-knowing Pāṇḍavas departed from the forest together with the Brahmins dwelling there; and Indrasena and the other attendants also went along with them at that time.
The verse highlights the Pāṇḍavas as dharma-discerning: even in movement and decision-making, they act with awareness of righteous duty, and (as the contextual gloss notes) they proceed in the company of Brahmins and attendants, reflecting social-ethical responsibility and proper conduct during exile.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Pāṇḍavas quickly depart from the forest; in the immediate context (as reflected in the accompanying prose), they leave along with the resident Brahmins, and their attendants such as Indrasena accompany them.
