हलस्य करणे चापि व्यादिष्टा: सर्वशिल्पिन: । यथोक्तं च नृपश्रेष्ठ कृतं सर्व यथाक्रमम्,यह सुनकर उन सबने राजासे “तथास्तु” कहकर उसकी हाँ-में-हाँ मिला दी। तदनन्तर राजा दुर्योधनने काममें लगे हुए सब शिल्पियोंको क्रमश: हल बनानेकी आज्ञा दी। नृपश्रेष्ठ! राजाकी आज्ञा पाकर सब शिल्पियोंने तदनुसार सारा कार्य क्रमशः सम्पन्न किया
halasya karaṇe cāpi vyādiṣṭāḥ sarvaśilpinaḥ | yathoktaṃ ca nṛpaśreṣṭha kṛtaṃ sarvaṃ yathākramam ||
All the craftsmen were also commissioned to make the plough. O best of kings, everything was carried out exactly as instructed, and all the work was completed in due order.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights orderly execution of authority: skilled labor, when directed by command, produces results efficiently and in sequence. Ethically, it invites reflection on how competence and obedience can be harnessed for any ruler’s aims, making discernment and responsibility important beyond mere compliance.
Vaiśampāyana reports that the king instructed all artisans to undertake the making of a plough, and they completed the entire task exactly as ordered, step by step and in proper order.
