एवं ब्रुवाणं कौन्तेयं भीमसेनमपस्वरम् । न काल: परुषस्यायमिति राजाभ्यभाषत,कुन्तीनन्दन भीमसेनको इस प्रकार विकृत स्वरमें बात करते देख राजा युधिष्ठिरने कहा --'भैया! यह कड़वी बातें कहनेका समय नहीं है”
evaṃ bruvāṇaṃ kaunteyaṃ bhīmasenam apasvaram | na kālaḥ paruṣasyāyam iti rājābhyabhāṣata ||
Seeing Kuntī’s son Bhīmasena speaking in a strained, harsh tone, the king (Yudhiṣṭhira) addressed him: “Brother, this is not the time for bitter and cutting words.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when provoked or distressed, one should restrain harsh speech and choose words suited to the time and purpose; ethical conduct includes knowing when not to speak bitterly.
Bhīma is speaking in an agitated, harsh tone; Yudhiṣṭhira intervenes as the elder and king, reminding him that the present moment is not appropriate for cutting words.
